International Trade: 1951 vs. 2012

1951:
This video from 1951 describes international trade from the prospective of the United States. Along with the production value, the way this video describes trade is very dated. 

The world presented is one where trade is primarily in commodities and trade occurs because countries are different.
2012:
This second video, published by the New York Times in December of 2012 presents a radically different view of the role of trade in the global economy. 

The world presented is one where trade in intermediate goods plays an important role in the global economy and on labor markets around the globe!
